PYI was founded in 1999 by Michael Perry, MSW, based upon the practices and experiences of 36 years working in treatment and educational environments for troubled children and youth. Educated at the University of Washington, where he studied under James K. Whittaker and Henry Maier, Mr. Perry is also a Master Trainer for the Life Space Crisis Intervention Institute and a trainer for San Diego State University’s Academy for Professional Excellence. Mr. Perry is a frequent speaker at educational and child welfare conferences.
PYI is a National Training Site for the advanced counseling program, Life Space Crisis Intervention.
PYI is a continuing education provider for the California Department of Social Services and the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
